Maharashtra Covid lockdown news: State reports 62,919 new cases, 828 deaths

 Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday said that the state would have seen ten lakh active COVID-19 cases if the state government had not imposed new lockdown-like restrictions. 

Even though the state is facing a shortage of vaccines, CM said that the first dose will be given on May 1 to people between 18 to 44 age group. Meanwhile, Mumbai city on reported new COVID-19 cases below 4,000, however, the rising death toll remains a worry. Catch all the latest updates here
